At Gaspy Home Healthcare we make it our goal to keep you up to date on the latest news ranging from topics related to seniors including but not limited to:

  • homemaking
  • joint replacement
  • pediatric home care
  • companionship
  • senior care
  • physical and occupational therapy
  • diabetes
  • private nursing
  • heart failure
  • coronary artery disease
  • depression
  • wound care

Just last week scientists made a major headway in arthritis research when a new study pointed to nervous system’s role in arthritis development. “The Journal of Neuroscience by researchers at McGill University adds to a growing body of evidence that the nervous system and nerve-growth factor (NGF) play a major role in arthritis. The findings also support the idea that reducing elevated levels of NGF — a protein that promotes the growth and survival of nerves, but also causes pain — may be an important strategy for developing treatment of arthritis pain.” This study offers hope that treatment methods will improve in time. ” ‘We are currently using drugs to prevent the production of elevated levels of NGF inarthritic rats; we hope that our research will serve as a basis for the development of a new treatment for arthritis in the clinic,’ said Prof. Ribeiro-da-Silva.”

You can be certain that at Gaspy Home Healthcare, we are always up to date on the latest treatment methods for our patients. More information on this article and others can be found from Science Daily, the leading journal on scientific research.

We’ve Moved!

Posted on: May 9th, 2011 by Gaspy Home Healthcare

That’s right, our agency has relocated! Beginning this week, Gaspy Home Healthcare will be operating from our new office at 1919 North Loop West, Suite #432. Though only a little more than 2 miles from our previous location, we believe this move better accommodates our growth and development.

Our new agency address is:

Gaspy Home Healthcare
1919 North Loop West, Suite 432
Houston, TX  77008

Even though our address has changed, our priorities have not. No matter where our office may be, our work remains the same: to bring healing, comfort, and peace to our patients from within the comfort of their own homes.

Southwest Regional Home Care Conference & Exhibition

Posted on: April 22nd, 2011 by Gaspy Home Healthcare

Earlier this week, two members of the Gaspy Home Healthcare team traveled to Dallas to attend the Southwest Regional Home Care Conference & Exhibition. The conference–which was attended by home health professionals from New Mexico, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas–featured a host of expert speakers from around the country, such as healthcare “futurist” Joe Flower, policy expert William A. Dombi of the National Association for Home Care & Hospice (NAHC), trend analyst Corinne Kuypers-Denlinger, and many others.

Conferences such as these help us stay on top of the many and constant changes in the healthcare field. And indeed, how many changes there are! Advances in medical technology, legislative developments, new demographic trends–the list goes on and on!

Yet in the midst of the ever-changing and complex world of healthcare, we haven’t forgotten our unchanging values: excellent care, personal service, professional integrity, and the power of a good-natured smile. No matter how quickly things may change, in the end home healthcare is always about your health, comfort, dignity, and well-being.
